I have been employed as a PhD candidate since September 2018. Although my background is in physics and radiometrics, my current work focuses models for nanoscale frictional phenomena of layered materials and drug resistance in chronic myeloid leukaemia treatments. This involves numerical simulations, data analysis and mathematical derivations. For more info, please explore my science page or send me an email.
The Studio School | Teacher Preparing and delivering practical and theoretical lessons to students aged 13-19 in A-Level and GCSE physics, GCSE chemistry and BTEC electronics. Also responsible for a year 13 tutor group and provided university references via UCAS for these students. |

University of Liverpool | MSc in Radiometrics: Instrumentation and Modelling – Distinction Studied the basics of radiation principles and their detection; understanding and using detection systems; and replicating data with modelling detector set-ups. During this time I took a particular interest in radiation safety and protection. I choose this as the topic of my dissertation particularly focusing on risk assessments. For my project I created a successful model of a mobile compton camera using Geant4 and collected data to validate the model. Along with Geant4, I also became skilled in using MATLAB, MCNP, ProSpect and Maestro. |

University of Manchester | BSc(Hons) in Physics – 2:2 During my time at the University of Manchester, I chose to study a general overview of physics and its applications. The option topics I selected included theoretical topics, such as random processes; applied topics, such as biophysics; and more creative topics, such as science fiction and film. I also undertook a lot of laboratory work and produced a dissertation on the application of materials with a negative refractive index as invisibility cloaks. |
